Sibling Quotes That Sum Up Their Myers-Briggs Types

Though families have a generally similar way of thinking, for us, MBTI is a totally different story.

Seven kids who are old enough to be typed, and we have seven different types already.

Makes for an interesting time, to say the least. ๐Ÿ˜›

So, we have our family funny book in which we record snippets of everyday hilarity (I get a side-ache pretty much every time I pick it up).

This is where I got all these quotes, most of which are from the siblings in question while they were 6 years old or younger.

So… without further ado…

Quotes that sum up my siblings MBTI types, from their own mouths.

Daniel: ESTP

โ€œ . . .PRESENTS . . . DANIEL! Who is good at it and likes it!โ€

(Overheard from another room.)

Beauty, Beeft hit you!

(While playing Beauty and the Beast with me… and getting fed up with how many times he had to play it. This was right after I told him to turn into a prince.)

Squink: ISFP

Auntie Noodle came to town,

Broke the gate, killed the hound,

Ate the tomato, stole the bread,

Came home and threw the bread in her face-y!

Her own version of “Yankee Doodle”.

Hopt and byewtipo!

Translation: Soft and beautiful.

John: ESFJ

Iโ€™m not really a chicken fan. Iโ€™m more of a candy fan.

His reasonable objection to dinner one night.

Why do they call it โ€˜Alvin and the Chipmunksโ€™? Thatโ€™s implying that Alvinโ€™s not a chipmunk! They should call it โ€˜Alvin the Chipmunk and the rest of the Chipmunks.โ€™

Details and accuracy = important.

Peter: INTP

I figured out how to make time travel possible. But then I forgot.

He was honestly crushed about this and shot me a death glare when I had the nerve to chuckle.

Mommy! Mommy! I canโ€™t find my shirt! Oh wait . . .โ€ *relieved* โ€œItโ€™s on me.โ€ *back to panic* โ€œDaddy! Daddy! I canโ€™t turn my underwear inside out!

Classic absent-minded professor.

ย

James: ENFP

I want shoes that dance upside down!

Let us all take a moment and give thanks that he doesn’t have them.

Iโ€™m deciding between being a writer and a tourist.

Upon being asked what he wants to be when he grows up. Travel writer, anyone? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Isaiah: ESTJ

I think Bob the Tomato is my favorite.

The situation was a normal VeggieTales opening: Larry proposing something outlandish and Bob insisting that was ridiculous.

Isaiah was very firm and serious about his decision to support a pillar of sanity in the world.

Can we sing this song without the emotions?

His earnest request for a song in his preschool choir. XD

And…

Me: ISFJ

Is there anything I can craft you?

Asking mom after her breaking her toe.

I want to be the ugly ducklingโ€™s friend!

My tearful declaration upon being read the story the first time.

There are plenty more examples for everyone, but these will have to do for now. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hope you enjoyed!

  1. Is it bad that I have had Peter’s same panic attack once or twice… like seriously one time I set an alarm for an earlier than usual time and then when it sang to me it’s song of woe and responsibilities I never really wanted, walked around my room for about two or three minutes trying to figure out where the noise was coming from and why the check it was in my room. (I also forget where I put things then walk the house for fifteen- twenty minutes trying to find the thing that had been in plain sight the entire time.)

    • Glad you liked them! ๐Ÿ˜€ I had so many good ones to choose from, though… I could have gone on forever with just Peter… XD

  2. INTP! Though, if I do say so myself, I’m the most hilarious person in our family. ๐Ÿ˜›

Those are quite funny! We should do that with my family…

  3. Oh my gravy, I love this! ๐Ÿ˜€ JOHN’S QUOTES THO. Oh my gravy, logic. It’s wonderful. I’m a mixture of him and Peter, because I forget everything. XD

  4. All of them, so funny and so accurate! My favorite was Isaiah’s request: “Can we sing this song without the emotions?” ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Glad you enjoyed! ๐Ÿ˜€
Oh my goodness, I love that one. He was so sincere about it, too. Raised his hand politely and everything. XP

  5. My personality type is INFJ and this is me most of the time: “what?” *crawls back under blanket* “I don’t have the energy to deal with you losers” ๐Ÿ˜›
YOUR SIBLINGS ARE SO ADORABLE X-D

    • XD My mom’s an INFJ, and that sounds about right. Funny, though, ‘cuz Dad’s an ESTP. Opposites attract. ๐Ÿ˜›
ISFJ is most of the time just “keep all the people happy!” *wears self to a frazzle and doesn’t even notice* Actually, ISFJs are very well portrayed in fiction. Steve Rodgers and John Watson come to mind, though I can’t particularly speak for Samwise. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Oh! and the movie “While you were sleeping” is basically a study in ISFJ-ness. Both the main characters are the same type.
That got a little rambly. .. XP
YES I KNOW. Can’t wait for you to meet them! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ Isaiah melted me multiple times yesterday. I was putting together breakfast right before bed and he came down looking all concerned and asked “Rosey? Do you have to stay up all night?”
“No, I’m just making breakfast for tomorrow.”
*relieved* “Oh, okay. Cuz I was gonna help you.”

  6. Omg, this is so funny!

Me and my sister decided that if we published a book with all the weird snippets from our family, it would be the most hilarious book in the world. You should hear some if the weird things we say and do! XD
Sadly, though, right now, I cannot think of any good examples ๐Ÿ˜›

    • Oh, and I’m ESFP. I very much need to laugh and/or make people laugh. I’m quite the jokester around my house.
Like this one time, my father said something in French I didn’t understand (we’re learning it as a family for his job) and I reply, “Oui, oui, papa!” In a very high-pitched voice. So now my family (and myself) quote me all the time.
But I’m like, “guys, that’s MY line!”
It was a lot more fabulous and funny in person, though ๐Ÿ˜›

  7. Oh my goodness yes ESTJ all the way. I’m all for Bob the Tomato AND a pillar of sanity in the world. XD (however the appeal of shoes that dance upside down is strong… )

  8. I had never heard of this test before now, so I went and took it and found out I am an ENTP. This describes me to a tee! I have to admit I was a little surprised by how accurate it was. ๐Ÿ˜‰
Those quotes are AWESOME!! We say stuff like that all the time too… although it’s normally on accident. ๐Ÿ™‚ I remember when we were house-shopping late one night looking at pictures of a perspective house, I was trying to ask if a particular bedroom was downstairs, but instead I asked, “Is the basement downstairs?” We were all crying with laughter by the time they had finished teasing me about it (and to be honest they still aren’t finished ๐Ÿ˜‰ )
Anyway, thanks for sharing! This was fun. ๐Ÿ˜€

    • My teenage brother just said something I had to share… it was hilarious. *grins an evil grin and rubs hands gleefully*
Sooo… he was looking at a picture of him when he was about 4, and suddenly blurted, “Man, I looked like me when I was little!” Of course you looked like you silly! ๐Ÿ˜€ He was genuinely surprised how much he still resembled himself. Sometimes the mind of a teenage boy must be scary. ๐Ÿ˜‰
Alright, signing off for the night! (it’s 10:09 over here in E.T., and I intend to get up at about 4:30 so I guess I’d better get some sleep)
Thanks for the fun blog, Writefury! ๐Ÿ˜€ *sends you thank you hug* *realizes how tired I will be tomorrow if I don’t go to bed like now* *says goodbye one last time* Good-bye!

      • I get that, actually. Sometimes you just look at old pictures and are amazed at how little you’ve changed. ๐Ÿ˜›
Byeeee! *hugs back* Glad you like it! ๐Ÿ˜€

  9. Aw this was so CUTE!! ๐Ÿ˜‚ And plenty extroverts in your family I see?! My family has never all been MBTI typed…but I’m like 99% sure we’re all introverts. I think it’s awesome that you’ve got so many personalities in your family though! ๐Ÿ˜€

  10. Hey Rosey, I don’t know if you catch comments on old posts, but I couldn’t resist commenting on this one. It’s so hilarious. ‘Can we sing this song without the emotions?’ I’m cracking up. ๐Ÿ˜€

I’m INFP— and known for blurting out completely random statements based on extremely long trains of philosophical thought that no one could follow if I tried to explain. For instance, ‘Hands are such weird things to have on the ends of your arms.’
As a child I was also extremely sensitive— Mom could tell me ‘no’ just once, firmly, and I would completely melt in a welter of tears and dramatic sobs. ๐Ÿ˜› I’ve always been a bit of a drama queen. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • It’s really funny, because whenever I say something like that I’m always perfectly serious, but then everyone laughs and I realize how ridiculous it must have sounded. ๐Ÿ˜›
Honestly though. Hands really are weird things to have on the ends of your arms. ๐Ÿ˜€

Any thoughts?
